Whether you want to attain your ideal
body or overcome a chronic condition, you will get the expertise needed to rapidly
achieve your goals of optimal health. The counseling begins with the assessment of
your current state of health. Your health will be assessed by measuring the following
indicators:
WeightHow does the number on the scale reflect your
health? Being mentally attached to a certain number can become a source of frustration while
working to attain and maintain a healthy weight. It is important to look at all the health
factors that indicate total well-being.
As people age, they go through physiological
changes. Often in the third through sixth decade, body weight may increase. The actual
weight gain is typically not the real problem, rather it is the physiologic changes such as
declining metabolism and vital organ functioning that can limit robust health. You can achieve a healthy life by understanding all the factors contributing to health,
including a healthy weight.
Body CompositionYour weight is not just a number! A
clearer understanding of weight involves body composition. In fact, some people may look not
overly heavy and yet be diagnosed with sarcopenic obesity. This happens when the body mass
index is low and the percentage of fat is too high. This condition is related to a higher
incidence of chronic diseases.
Your gender will influence the ratio of lean body mass to body fat. Healthy
females will average a higher percentage of body fat than healthy males. Your metabolic
efficiency depends on maintaining a healthy ratio of lean body mass to body fat.
Cellular HydrationBeing well hydrated means having enough water inside the cells. Having enough water within the cell versus around the cell
influences each cell’s ability to function. Drinking enough pure water daily and limiting caffeinated beverages, will help insure that your cells have the water needed
to support your life. Exercise promotes cellular hydration.

indicate specific areas needing support. Muscle testing coupled with other standard methods of
evaluation can be helpful to determine the best diet and supplements needed to create well-
being. Various sensitivities to food and environmental stimuli can be evaluated using this
methodology.
Client Health Survey and HistoryA complete health
history is taken through an extensive written survey and face–to-face interview. This
process helps identify risk factors and often reveals what is limiting your ability to
have robust health. It is crucial to answer the health surveys honestly and accurately.
pH levelThe body wants maintain an alkaline pH around
7.2. When the diet is too acidic the body has to work hard to maintain this pH level.
When the pH is too acidic (below 7), it creates stress on a cellular level. A person
can experience low energy, become overweight and have more aches and pain in the body. Eating
enough vegetables, drinking enough water and getting proper nutrients will support maintaining an alkaline pH.
Acoustic CardiogramThis is an extremely sensitive
electronic stethoscope that records a wide range of heart sounds. The pattern of sounds can
indicate specific nutritional challenges. This nutritional needs of the heart is reflective
of a system-wide need. Improving the efficiency of the heart by supplying it with the
nutrients it needs also improves the health and efficiency of the entire body.
These assessments will allow a customized plan to be developed for each client.
